CHAPTER 3:  REPAIRING A TORN PAGE*
(Chapter 3 is taken from "Book Repair For Beginners: An Illustrated Step-By-Step Guide")

Step 1:
If you have a page with a tear on it, use the techniques in this chapter to repair the page.

Step 2:
Gather the following materials to repair the page.  Two sheets of waxed paper, a glue brush, acid-free glue, and a weight. (All materials, except the weight, are included in the  "Bookbinding Book Repair Kit")

Step 3:
Place 1 sheet of waxed paper under the torn page.

Step 4:

Before you apply glue, make sure the words on the page are lined up.

Step 5:
Use the brush to apply glue over the torn area.

Step 6:
Place the second sheet of wax paper on top of the tear.

Step 7:
Close the book.  Place a weight on the book and let dry.

Step 8:
When dry, remove the wax paper.  If the paper does not lift easily, allow more time for drying.  When dry, repeat the process on the other side of the torn page.
